Qama Zani or blood donating, which one is better?

Some Muslims in the world do Qama Zani in Ashura (day of Imam Hussein’s martyrdom). in fact it doesn’t relate to Islam. it is forbidden in Islam to harm yourself.
This Qama Zani make people think that Islam is a wild religion and it change the mind of who want to convert to Islam.
dear sister or brother, instead of wasting your blood, donate it in Ashura, to prove the rationality and mercy of this divine religion
